The Recreation and Landscape Park 'Silver Park' Olkusz has become Poland's most prominent sports and leisure base and one of the largest in Europe, thanks to the newly built professional leisure and sports centre. The land that has been developed for the Recreation and Landscape Park is more than 20,000 square metres. The investment was made thanks to a project by the City and Municipality of Olkusz. Today, it is a place where people of all ages can spend active time, and it’s a paradise for skateboard lovers. There is the opportunity to go rollerblading and cycling and also a place to do cycle trials, parkour and other extreme sports. The trial track has already been tested by Rafał Kumorowski, three-time world champion and multiple Polish champion in bike trials, and he praised it highly. Another exciting attraction is the earth tracks for riding various types of bicycles, with sections for beginners and advanced cyclists, pump tracks (tracks for riding bicycles without pedalling) and dirty tracks (for performing bicycle tricks). The park area is also a place for young and old to relax. There is also a reservoir with cascades, a children's playground with sand bed, a multi-purpose gazebo and a car park. There are wonderful walkways and lots of greenery. An undoubted attraction of the park is the mining machines on display that were once used in the surrounding mines. Skateboarders and rollerbladers make use of the machine thanks to the special pedestals that the machines are mounted on. There are also educational trails with information boards related to the history of mining and the vegetation found in the park.
