The High Synagogue, one of the oldest synagogues in Krakow Kazimierz, was built in the 16th century.
The name is derived from the fact that the main prayer hall was placed upstairs. The synagogue was built in the Renaissance style. The remains of the original decorations are the wall paintings with liturgical texts and the fragments of the Torah Ark. Currently, the building functions as an exhibition and conference space.
