Reason 1: the power of the mountains!
The Tatras are the only fragment of the Alpine landscape in this part of Europe. A place belonging to the spiritual landscape of every Pole. Wild nature, a world biosphere reserve and Zakopane – the navel of the world. It is difficult not to be here. Moreover, these are the most diverse mountain areas in Poland. From the wildest Polish areas – Beskid Niski, through Pieniny, Gorce, Beskid Sądecki and Beskid Wyspowy, to the majestic Babia Góra and the Polish Jurassic Highland.
Reason 2: national parks!
We have as many as six national parks. Perfectly accessible with an excellent tourist base, they are an ideal place to get away from civilisation and to relax with the whole family.
Reason 3: cultural heritage!
The UNESCO World Heritage list includes the world's most valuable historic sites. In Małopolska, there are several of them. From all historic buildings of Kraków along with Wawel Castle and the Main Square, through the Wieliczka Salt Mine, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi concentration camp – a tragic monument to history — the Bernardine Monastery in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, to centuries-old small wooden churches in small villages.

One of the best-known Polish places in the world, a lesson of Polish history, a symbol of our homeland and the city where our nation developed. It attracts visitors from all parts of the world. We have it at our fingertips. It is also home to one of the most famous paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and the world’s only complete example of the extinct species of the woolly rhinoceros from over 30,000 years ago.
Reason 5: activity
We need versatile activity – the return to passion and movement. Małopolska has one of the most developed networks of hiking trails and routes for lovers of other activities. We have the biggest number of ski areas in Poland, including cross-country and ski tour skiing trails. We offer an extensive infrastructure of cycle paths and a cycle of race events, including mountain running.
Reason 6: thermae
In Małopolska, mainly at Podhale, you can find the biggest number of thermal swimming pools offering relaxation, body regeneration and therapy opportunities. Swimming pools are also a big relaxation zone for children.
Reason 7: spas
Spas are not only for sick people. It is a place where people of every age can regain the bliss of their body. The curative impact of mineral waters combined with the benefits of the microclimate is a real injection of fitness for the health of the body, including the restoration of mental toughness.
